Inherent Health

High Level Healing

Dr. Samar Rashid

Dr. Rashid is a board-certified family medicine physician and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with over ten years of experience. Passionate about whole-person centered care, Dr. Rashid combines evidence-based family medicine to address the unique needs of each patient.

The osteopathic tenet of inherent health, also known as self-healing, emphasizes the body’s natural ability to maintain and restore health. Dr. Rashid uses her hands to diagnose and treat her patients, harnessing the therapeutic forces within their bodies. This principle suggests that the body has built-in mechanisms to heal itself and that illness arises when these mechanisms are challenged. At Inherent Health, this philosophy is brought to life—every visit is based on the belief that your body has a blueprint for healing, and together, we work to uncover it.

Your body already holds the key to its own healing
my job is to help you unlock it

What is Osteopathic Medicine?

Osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) was developed in the United States in the late 1800s by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, an allopathic (MD) physician, who believed in the body’s innate ability to heal itself when its structure and function are in balance.

In the United States, osteopathic physicians (DOs) receive the same comprehensive medical education, board certification and multi-year residency training program as allopathic doctors (MDs). But osteopathic doctors are also uniquely trained in osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), learning how to diagnose (listen/feel) and treat using their hands.

Osteopathic manipulative medicine is a gentle, hands-on approach to treating the body as a whole. With a specialized understanding of the musculoskeletal system and its relationship with the body as a whole, Dr. Rashid restores and optimizes function by addressing imbalances and restrictions in the body’s structure.

Why Osteopathic Care?

In a world where conventional medicine often relies on prescriptions or quick fixes, osteopathic care offers something different: a hands-on, whole-person approach that respects the body’s natural ability to heal.

Through Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), Dr. Rashid uses precise, gentle techniques to support the body’s structure and function—without the need for medications or invasive procedures.

This approach is ideal for those seeking to understand the why behind their symptoms, reduce dependence on pharmaceuticals, and feel more connected to their health. Osteopathic care is especially powerful for individuals looking to take a more proactive, preventive, and personalized path toward lasting wellness.
